Frequently asked questions.

What this referral service costs you, who does the design work, how we get paid, and where the limits are. If a question below has an uncomfortable answer, the uncomfortable answer is the one printed.

The short version

Branding Services Australia is a referral service, not a design studio. Sending a brief costs you nothing, we are paid a referral fee by the design studio that receives the work, and we aim to respond within 1 business day. Your details go to 1 studio and nowhere else. We cannot promise a price, a date or an outcome, because those belong to the designer and are settled in your quote.

FAQ

Common questions

Yes, and there is no catch we are keeping quiet about. You are never invoiced by us. We are paid a referral fee by the design studio that receives your brief, and only when an introduction turns into paid work. That fee comes out of the studio’s side of the transaction, not added on top of your price. Everything you pay goes to the designer under the agreement you make with them.
No. Branding Services Australia is a referral service, not a design studio. We do not employ designers, we do not subcontract creative work, and we hold no creative role in your project. Every logo, identity system and set of brand guidelines is produced by the independent professional you deal with directly.
An experienced Australian brand design studio. We work with 1 fulfilment partner rather than an open panel or a bidding marketplace, which is unusual for a site like this and is the reason we can tell you exactly where your brief goes. You will be dealing with them by name as soon as they reply to your enquiry.
We aim to respond within 1 business day, and we are not going to dress that up as a guarantee, because the second half of it is not ours to promise. Our part is reading your brief and passing it on. The designer’s reply then depends on their workload that week. If several days pass with no contact, send a note through the form on the contact page and we will chase it.
There is no single number, and any site that gives you one without seeing your brief is guessing. Price is driven by scope: a logo with basic files sits at one end, and a full identity system with strategy, guidelines and templates sits at the other. The branding cost calculator on this site walks through the variables that move the figure. The only real number is the fixed-price quote the designer gives you on your actual deliverables.
Not necessarily, and we will not pretend otherwise. This is a national referral service. We do not run an office in any city and we do not employ designers anywhere. Brand work is produced remotely as standard practice across the industry, so briefing, concept review and file handover happen over email and video calls regardless of who you hire. If meeting in person genuinely matters to you, say so in your enquiry and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible.
Yes. The studio your brief goes to is Australian. We do not forward enquiries offshore and we do not resell briefs to overseas marketplaces.
You are under no obligation at any stage, and nothing is owed to us whether you proceed or not. Tell us it is not a fit and we will be straight with you about what we can do. Because we work with 1 studio, we cannot promise to produce a different designer on request. Sometimes the honest answer is that you should approach studios directly, and we would rather say that than waste your week.
Yes, and it is a sensible thing to do on a purchase of this size. We are a referral service, not a comparison site: we are not surveying the market on your behalf and we are not claiming the designer you hear from is the best available in Australia, because we have not measured that. Getting a second quote costs you nothing here and we will not chase you for going elsewhere.
Ownership is set by the agreement between you and the designer, not by us. Ask for it in writing before you pay a deposit. The terms should state that full ownership of the final artwork transfers to you on final payment, and should list what you actually receive: editable vector logo files, exported formats for print and screen, colour values, and details of any typeface that has to be licensed in your own name. If a quote is silent on ownership, ask before you sign it.
It depends entirely on scope, and the designer sets it, not us. A logo-only project and a full identity system with strategy and guidelines are different jobs with different schedules. Ask for the timeline to be written into the quote, including how many rounds of concept revisions are covered. The only timing commitment we make is our own: we aim to pass your brief on within 1 business day.
Payment terms are the designer’s to set and they appear in the quote, not on this site. If staged payments matter to you, say so in your enquiry and ask for the payment schedule to be written into the quote before you commit to anything.
Tell us the industry in your enquiry and we will be straight about whether it is a fit. Most brand work is less industry-specific than people expect: the process is much the same for a cafe and a civil contractor, and what changes is where the brand has to survive, whether that is a shopfront, a menu, a ute door or a tender document. If your brief needs something that sits outside brand design, such as a full website build, packaging engineering or a trade mark application, we will tell you rather than forward it.
Your enquiry goes to 1 design studio and nowhere else. We do not sell your data, add you to a marketing list, or pass it to advertising networks. Enquiries are kept for 24 months for record keeping and then deleted. The full detail is in the privacy policy, including how to ask for a copy of what we hold or have it deleted.
Because we do not make sales calls, and a published number that nobody answers is worse than no number at all. Everything runs through the quote form or the chat widget in the corner of the page, both of which are written rather than spoken. The form does have an optional phone field, but that works the other way round: it is so the designer can call you back instead of emailing, if you would rather. Leave it blank and nothing changes. Once the designer has your brief, the 2 of you can arrange a call directly if that suits you both.

The about page explains what this business is and how it is paid, and how it works sets out what happens to a brief step by step. For anything to do with your information, read the privacy policy; for the legal position on quotes and liability, read the terms.

If you want a rough sense of budget before you talk to anyone, start with the branding cost calculator or the brand audit checklist. If you would rather just ask a question, the contact page takes it through the same form.
